The following is the e-mail response from Chuck E. Cheese’s when asked which of their menu items are vegan:
The pizza crust is completely vegan–the ingredients are: Enriched bleached wheat flour (Wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, ferrous sulfate, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), Soybean oil, sugar, salt, yeast, soy protein concentrate, natural flavor.
The pizza sauce is also vegan: Tomato puree (water, tomato paste), sugar salt, spices, citric acid, garlic powder, and onion powder. Spices = basil, oregano, thyme, marjoram. If you wanted pizza, you could always order it without cheese and the location will be happy to make it that way for you. After baking, we lightly brush the crust of the pizza with garlic margarine, so make sure you tell the cashier to skip this step when you order (it won’t be a problem at all for the store to not do this on your pizza, but make sure you tell the cashier when you order.) Our breadsticks are made with the same dough as the pizza, but before they’re baked, we put on garlic margarine and parmesan cheese (so they aren’t vegan.) Here are the ingredients for the garlic margarine, in case you wanted it: Liquid and partially hydrogenated soybean oil, water, salt, vegetable mono & diglycerides, soy lecithin, sodium benzoate (a preservative), natural garlic flavor, natural and artificial flavor, calcium disodium EDTA added to protect flavor, beta carotene (color), vitamin A palmitate added, citric acid. We have two different kinds of French fries (those that are fried and those that are baked.) It just depends on which location you are going to (the store will have one or the other, but not both.) Here are the ingredients: Fryer Fries: Potatoes, vegetable oil (may contain one or more of the following: canola oil, sunflower oil, cottonseed oil, palm oil, corn oil, soybean oil), modified food starch, rice flour, dextrin, salt, leavening (disodium dihydrogen pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbinate), dextrose, xanthan gum. They are fried in: liquid and hydrogenated soybean oil, TBHQ and citric acid added to protect flavor, dimenthylpolysiloxane, an anti-foaming agent added. Oven Fries: Potatoes, partially hydrogenated vegetable shortening (soybean oil, and/or canola oil), salt, disodium dihydrogen pyrophosphate (to promote color retention), dextrose. Contains zero grams trans fat. Made with high oleic canola oil that is non-hydrogenated, cholesterol free, and low in saturated fat. For dessert, the Apple Pizza is vegan if you order it without shortbread topping (you can just tell the cashier to leave the shortbread topping off.) The ingredients for the apple pizza are: Dough: Enriched bleached wheat flour (Wheat flour, malted barley flour, niacin, ferrous sulfate, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), Soybean oil, sugar, salt, yeast, soy protein concentrate, natural flavor Apple Topping: Water, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, evaporated apples (preserved with sodium sulfite), modified food starch, natural apple flavor, sodium benzoate (preservative), potassium sorbate (preservative), citric acid, propylene glycol, caramel color. Shortbread Topping: Bleached flour, sugar, soybean and cottonseed oil, margarine, soybean and cottonseed oil shortening, corn syrup, salt, artificial flavor. Icing: Powdered sugar, water, glucose, sugar stabilizer (Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose). All of our locations have a salad bar with a ton of vegan options as well. I hope this helps–let me know if you have any other questions! I’m a vegetarian, so I know it can be tricky at times. |
